Rafaela Moura is a devoted environmentalist, Latin advocate, global professional with more than two decades of extensive public policy and economic development experience. She has dedicated herself and her life to protecting the environment and promoting social equity. Originally from Brazil, Rafaela first discovered her passion for protecting the environment as a child growing up in Tucuruí in the 1980s while Pará was under a military regime.
Over the course of her career, Moura has worked in her native Brazil, Africa, and most recently, the United States. Working all over the world, she’s had the opportunity to learn from, work with, and build long-lasting relationships with the best and brightest professionals in the industry. Through her various roles, Moura has become a public policy expert and a conscious and holistic leader and manager. She has fine-tuned a number of invaluable skills, including environmental permitting, program management, and civic engagement. She is also an expert communicator and has had her work published numerous times as well as completed many speaking engagements.
Moura is currently a Senior Advisor for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In this role, she works to implement public policies that protect public health and the environment. She also leads regional interdisciplinary committees aimed at building a holistic framework that is resilient to the environment and political stressors. Additionally, Moura serves as a liaison, board member and speaker for EPA’s southeast region.
